The Humane Society of Flower Mound is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a respectful, responsible, and compassionate relationship between animals and people. We work to help animals in need in Flower Mound and the Denton County area.

With the weather getting a little nicer, we have more events coming your way! Read below about upcoming events!
These FUNdraisers and events are a chance to raise a LOT of money to help the animals
May 18, 7pm-11am - Wellington Fun Run/Walk:
This year's Fun Run is on Saturday, May 18th and HSFM is the beneficiary of all proceeds. This is a huge event that raises several thousand dollars for HSFM each year, and we need a lot of volunteers! If you'd like to volunteer, please email fundraising@hsfm.org. Anytime - Flamingo Flocking
Flamingo Flocking is underway and the flock may land in your yard! Starting at $25, you can have a flock of plastic flamingos set up in an unsuspecting friend's yard for their birthday, graduation, anniversary or Mother's Day! Email flamingos@hsfm.org or call the Flamingo Hotline at (972) 874-0807 for more information. You can submit your order by completing the order form.
With all these events we need lots of volunteers! If you haven't participated in any events, or have been busy lately and are ready to get involved again, we need you! Respond today and spread the word about our fundraisers to your friends!

Pawsitively Polite Dog Manners Class
Leash pulling? Housebreaking? Separation Anxiety?

Positive Training to help you and your dog live in harmony
$10 donation per session - All proceeds benefit HSFM
Class size limited to 10 dogs per night - Register to reserve your spot!

Topics covered: Loose leash walking, jumping up, greeting strangers and other dogs, self-control, recall, and more. Trainers will also be available for consultation on issues such as housetraining, and separation anxiety.
The rules: Proof of rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccine required. Dogs must be dog-friendly and wear a flat collar or harness - NO choke chains or pinch collars. Please bring a 4' or 6' leash, soft chewy treats your dog likes, and do NOT feed your dog before class.

Find out how you can help the Humane Society of Flower Mound! This 45 minute orientation that starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 7:45 p.m. provides you an overview of our history, accomplishments and detailed information on the various activities you can get involved in.
We have many volunteer opportunities from hands-on with animals to needing assistance with our general operations. Come learn more about how you can make a difference! Minimum age requirements while working with animals are as follows:
- TLC - Tender Loving Care (care of animals who are not yet in foster homes): 12-17 yrs old with a parent; 18 yrs old without a parent
- LAP - Luv A Pet (care for cats staying at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- AAPurr - Adopt A Purr (cat adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- AAP - Adopt a Pet (dog adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
If you are under 18 years old, a parent will be required to sign paperwork before you can volunteer. We encourage parents to attend, as parents are required to participate in any volunteer efforts that involve animal handling.
