Find out how you can help the Humane Society of Flower Mound! This 45 minute orientation that starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 7:45 p.m. provides you an overview of our history, accomplishments and detailed information on the various activities you can get involved in.
We have many volunteer opportunities from hands-on with animals to needing assistance with our general operations. Come learn more about how you can make a difference! Minimum age requirements while working with animals are as follows:
- TLC - Tender Loving Care (care of animals who are not yet in foster homes): 12-17 yrs old with a parent; 18 yrs old without a parent
- LAP - Luv A Pet (care for cats staying at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- AAPurr - Adopt A Purr (cat adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- AAP - Adopt a Pet (dog adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
If you are under 18 years old, a parent will be required to sign paperwork before you can volunteer. We encourage parents to attend, as parents are required to participate in any volunteer efforts that involve animal handling.
